QUESTION AND ANSWER

QUESTION

A guy in our fellowship has been sending me text messages that he loves me. What should I do?

ANSWER

The first thing you need to know is that there is a proper way to go about a relationship. It is wrong and inappropriate for a young man to be sending messages of love to a young lady without first making his intention known in person. What he is doing is a sign of immaturity or lack of seriousness. If he is serious about a relationship he will come and talk to you in person. He can’t make a proposal by sending you text message. What he is doing looks more like he is trying to play game with you! You should walk up to him and tell him to stop sending messages like that to you. If he fails to stop sending the messages then you should report him to the fellowship leadership. If you don’t he may work his way into your life without having a serious plan for you. There are many wolves in sheep clothing. There are guys who are in fellowship just to get a sister. You should be careful so that you don’t become a victim of one of them. Christian relationship is not a casual affair like people in the world do. Don’t let him manipulate your emotions.
